Maehang-ri Peace Museum photo

From the pain of Division to a Symbol of peace
Utilized as a bombing range for the U.S. Air Force for about 50 years, Maehyang-ri was the living artifact of the pain and devastation brought to the people by years of war and division. The residents endured years of damage th houses, livestock, farms, and people brought on by the bombings. In 2005, after years of campaigning by the residents and civic organizations, the bombing range was finally shut down and peace was restored to Maehyang-ri once ordnances were collected to create an exhibition for the Maehyang-ri Peace Museum.
