Jebudo(Island) photo
The Jebudo geosite is Hwaseong's flagship tourist attraction known for its so-called "Miracle of Moses" where the sea divides. The route linking the land and the Jebudo is open twice a day, and visitors can explore the geotrail that start from the sprawling mudflats. The rocks of Jebudo consists of the Precambrian metamorphic rocks belonging to the Gyeonggi massif. Various metamorphic rocks such as quartzite, schist and phyllite can be observed, as well as geological structures such as fault, joint, quartz vein, calcite vein, clastic dike along the geotrail. In addition, various coastal landforms such as seastacks, sea cliff, sea cave, sand and gravel beaches, mudflats, coastal dunes, and ripples are also observable, thus providing high geomorphological and geological diversity.
