Ttakseom

Ttakseom photo

Ttakseom geosite, located in the Songsan-myeon, Hwaseong-si is composed of Large-ttakseom and Small-ttakseom. Like Eoseom and Ueumdo, they were islands in the past, but now were changed to land, and artificial wetland were also made after the construction of the Sihwa seawall. Most rocks in this geosite were composed of sedimentary rocks(sandstone, mudstone), and pyroclastic rocks(volcanic breccica, lapilli tuff), which were deposited in the Cretaceous Tando Basin. Syndepositional structures (clastic dyke, growth fault), quartz veins and joints can be observed in this site.
